J.K. Rowling announces new Harry Potter series

Potter fans everywhere rejoice--J.K. Rowling, author of the bestselling Harry Potter series, has hinted that she may be returning to Hogwarts.  In an interview with HuffPost, Rowling stated, "I've come to miss the wizarding world more than I'd realized."  Rowling was still hushed about the scope of the project, but hinted that the new series will follow the exploits of Albus Severus Potter, the eldest son of Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley.

"This series will be very different," Rowling told HuffPost Books.  "Voldemort has been long dead and Harry is now a famous Auror.  The magical world has recovered from the battle at the Ministry, but Voldemort's Death Eaters brought magic to the attention of Muggles in a way that hadn't happened since the Druids.  Albus finds himself in the center of it all."  As for the rest of the Potter cast, Rowling commented, "There will be familiar faces, Hermione and Ron, of course, but this is really Albus' story.  That's all I'll say for now."

Unfortunately, the world will have to wait until September for Alfred A. Knopf's official announcement of titles and publication dates.  Rowling hinted that the first book likely won't be published until 2017.  In the mean time, Potter fanatics can feed their cravings with Warner Brother's spin-off movie series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.  The first movie is slated to release November 2016.
